The hard disk drive features an indicator, or activity, light on the chassis. This light, a tiny light-emitting diode (LED), indicates that a certain component is active, such as power into the system, or access of a |disk drive|. The indicator light will blink if the activity of the component is intermittent, such as with a hard disk.
